Frequently Asked Questions

What ages is Peak Summer Camp for?

Peak’s summer day camps are designed for kids ages 5–12. It is built for elementary-aged children who need a summer that stays active, engaging, and full of variety.

No. Kids do not need martial arts experience to have a great summer at Peak. Our children’s summer camp program is designed so new and returning campers can jump in, try new things, and feel successful.

Peak summer day camp runs from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM each day. The morning starts with a relaxed arrival window, and structured camp activities begin at 9:00 AM.

Campers ease into the morning, then move through a mix of morning and afternoon rotations that may include active games, outdoor time, crafts, STEM, hands-on projects, and group experiences. There is also snack time, lunch, Kid Cave time, and a calmer wind-down period before pickup. It gives the day structure without making camp feel rigid.

Campers are grouped by age and grade level so the day feels like a better fit for each child. Peak typically uses 4–5 classrooms during summer, usually with about 1–2 grade levels per group, which helps activities stay age-appropriate and more comfortable for campers.

That is completely normal. Peak encourages kids to participate and try new things, but staff do not force it. If a camper needs time to settle in, regroup, or observe first, coaches support them at their comfort level and help them build confidence at their own pace.

That is completely fine. Summer camp field trips are optional, and campers who stay on campus still get a full day of themed activities, games, crafts, and time with their friends. Peak keeps the day feeling strong for both groups, so non-field-trip campers are not stuck with a lesser experience.

Campers should bring a bagged lunch, two snacks, and a refillable water bottle each day. Lunches should be packed separately from snacks and should not require refrigeration or microwaving. On Water Wednesdays, campers should also bring a change of clothes, a towel, and shoes that can get wet.

Peak includes both a morning and an afternoon snack break. Families can pack snacks from home or use the Snack Shack, where most items are $1. Campers bring their own lunch unless they join the Wednesday pizza option or use an emergency lunch when needed.

Peak accepts CCCAP, and payment plans may be available in some situations for our summer kids camps. If a family needs help figuring out the best fit, our team can walk them through available options.

How much screen time is there?

Screen time is limited. Our children’s summer camp program may include a little PG-rated TV during drop-off, pickup, and lunch, plus the occasional special movie day during the summer. Most of the day is built around movement, games, hands-on learning, crafts, and coach-led activities.

Phones and smart watches are discouraged during camp hours. If brought, they should be stored away in backpacks and may only be used with staff permission. Peak wants campers engaged in the day, and staff can always help contact parents if needed.

Peak promotes a positive, respectful environment. Staff use clear expectations, redirection, and positive reinforcement as the first approach. If a child needs more support, Peak communicates with families and works collaboratively on next steps. Safety remains the priority, and repeated serious behavior issues can affect continued enrollment.

Peak uses fingerprint background-checked staff, age-grouped classrooms, a 1:15 staff-to-camper ratio, cameras, digital check-in and check-out, secure entry, parent-authorized pickup only, and regular head counts throughout the day.

If a child becomes sick during camp, parents are expected to pick them up promptly. Children with symptoms like fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other communicable illnesses need to stay home and may return once symptoms have resolved, based on camp policy.

Peak understands that emergencies happen, but late pickup is taken seriously so staff coverage can stay consistent for all families. Children not picked up by 6:05 PM may be charged a $1 per minute late fee, and repeated late pickups can lead to additional consequences under camp policy.

Campers are only released to adults listed on the authorized pickup list. All authorized pickup people must show a valid photo ID, and anyone not already listed must be added in writing by a parent or guardian before pickup.

Peak has plans in place for severe weather and changing conditions. Campers may shift activities indoors, and water breaks are built in regularly, especially during warm-weather activities, to help kids stay safe and comfortable.

Yes. Peak offers both a Whole Summer Membership and a Partial Summer Membership. Families who register for the full summer receive the stronger weekly rate, while partial enrollment gives families more flexibility to choose specific weeks. The youngest groups, especially ages 5–6 / Kindergarten–1st grade, tend to fill fastest. Week 10 is also usually one of the first weeks to sell out, so families who want specific weeks are encouraged to register early.

Yes. Peak’s summer camps for kids require a $47 non-refundable registration fee. For families not attending all 10 weeks, your desired weeks usually need to be prepaid to hold those spots.
